Sister Rosetta Tharpe has always blown my mind. She melded secular jazz and blues with gospel in a way that just wasn't being done at the time. There's a new biography out by Gayle Wald called Shout, Sister, Shout!: The Untold Story of Rock-and-Roll Trailblazer SisterRosetta Tharpe
, which I have to check out. In the meantime, I'll enjoy watching her shred that Les Paul!Sister Rosetta Tharpe: Up Above My Head
